Dr. Shen Hsin-Ling, Executive Director
Dr. Shen Hsin-Ling is a Taiwanese social innovator, educator and long-time public-interest practitioner. Growing up in a rural, low-income family in Yunlin, she began using technology at a young age to solve practical problems and has continued community and educational work for more than two decades.
Her work has taken her from rural schools and farming communities across Taiwan to international forums and humanitarian initiatives. She has focused on education, social innovation, youth leadership, global citizenship and practical ways to connect local action with wider global challenges.
As the leader of PeaceJam Taiwan, she works with the PeaceJam network and the experience of 14 Nobel Peace Laureates to bring peace education, leadership development and action-based learning to young people in the Chinese-speaking world.
Across her public-interest projects, one idea remains constant: meaningful change begins when people turn empathy into action.
Honoring Dr. Kate Cumbo’s 22 Years of Service to PeaceJam
Members of the PeaceJam community from around the world came together to celebrate Dr. Kate Cumbo and her decades of dedication to peace education. Nobel Peace Laureates and PeaceJam partners shared messages of gratitude for the leadership, curriculum development and global relationships she helped build.
PeaceJam Taiwan joined the celebration with a special creative tribute. Dr. Cumbo’s work—especially her contributions to youth leadership, anti-bullying education and educator training—has helped shape programs that continue to reach young people across cultures and borders.
Her legacy is a reminder that peace education grows through long-term commitment: one learner, one educator and one community at a time.
Peace education inspired by 14 Nobel Peace Laureates—helping young people turn empathy, courage and leadership into action.
